Weekend and public holidays closed.
Our qualified and professional staff will nurture and entertain your children while you pursue activities in or out of the Brunswick Baths. Our children’s services centre maintains a high level of supervision of children at all times. Staff to child ratios are 1:5, as per Children’s Services Regulations.
Types of children’s services
- childcare is for children whose parents are present in the centre
- occasional care is for children whose parents are leaving the centre.
Children’s services age groups
- We cater for children from six weeks up to six years of age.
Children are able to attend childcare for up to four hours per days and a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Due to regulations, there is a limit to the number of children who can attend our centre at any one time, therefore parents are required to book in their children prior to each session. Should you arrive late you will only be eligible to stay for the time in which you had originally booked, unless otherwise discussed with staff.
Bookings are essential for childcare and can be made up to one week in advance with payment at the time of booking.
Occasional care bookings can only be made one day in advance with payment taken at reception.
An enrolment form must be completed prior to your child’s first stay at our children’s services centre as well as at the beginning of each year. This is available from Brunswick Baths reception or the children’s services centre. This enrolment form provides us with the relevant information required to care for your child.
On the enrolment form, please include the following information:
- immunisation details,
- medical information, and
- emergency contact numbers with at least two contacts.
You can print and fill out this enrolment form and hand into childcare, or scan and send to firstname.lastname@example.org

Parents are encouraged to visit the centre with your child before commencing care. These orientation visits are not charged and you will need to attend at least one visit before leaving your child, giving you both time to familiarise yourselves with staff and the environment.
What to bring
- a nutritious snack (clearly labelled),
- a drink (clearly labelled),
- a change of clothes,
- nappies if required (please ensure your child arrives in a clean nappy), and
- a hat and applied sunscreen for the summer months.
We are a nut free centre, and for the safety and wellbeing of all the children we ask that all nut and nut based products not be brought into our childcare room (including Nutella, peanut butter and muesli bars).
Cancellations received by 8 am of the booked day will not be charged. Failure to notify the centre of a cancellation or cancellations received after 8 am will result in you being charged the full cost of your days booking.
Arrival and departure
To ensure their safety, all children must be signed in and out of children’s services by a parent or guardian without exception. Please be punctual when picking up your child as a late fee will apply if you arrive late. If your child/children are to be picked up by another family member or friend, staff must be notified of the arrangements.
If you are late to pick up your child/ren, a late fee of one hour care cost will apply if you are up to 10 minutes late and one hour cost for every 10 minutes thereafter.
To maintain the best quality environment for all children, we ask that ill children be kept at home. Staff are permitted to refuse entry to any child showing signs of illness.
'No Jab, No Play' legislation
'No Jab, No Play' legislation will come into effect from 1 January 2016.
All parents and guardians wanting to enrol their child into a childcare service from Friday 1 January 2016 will be required to provide evidence that their child is:
- fully immunised for their age,
- on a vaccination catch-up program, and
- or unable to be fully immunised for medical reasons.
'Conscientious objection' will not be an exemption.
For more information, visit the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services 'No Jab, No Play' webpage.
Where emergency care is required, the parent/guardian will be notified immediately. If a parent/guardian is unable to be contacted, staff will follow procedures outlined on your enrolment form and will undertake any necessary action.
A Parent Handbook is available should you require further details on procedures and policies.
Parents are encouraged to be part of this important service through open discussion with staff members regarding any comments, suggestions or concerns.
If you have any questions or would like to book, please email Brunswick Baths or call 9381 1840.
