The North Coburg Rebels are making an impact with the success of their teams and their dedicated engagement with their local community.
They champion female participation at their club and now have 4 new females playing for them this year. They have a successful junior program with 3 out of their 4 teams in finals contention and their U15s sitting on top of the competition. Their juniors are encouraged to play in the senior teams and they love contributing to the team’s success (see Angelina pictured). 3 out of the 4 senior teams are in finals contention and their summer team has made finals in only their second season.
The Coburg Rebels have 14 members playing representative ball this year, including both males and females who have gone on to become regional, state, national and international players.
Moreland City Council would like to acknowledge the following players:
- Harvey Hadlow and Trenell Hutchins who represented Victoria in Nationals competition.
- Charlie Sutherland who is overseas participating in the Cap Ripken Jr Tournament.
- Angelina Kichakov represented Victoria in the U15 girls team and has been selected to play in the U15 girls softball team as well.
Not only have the Coburg Rebels been dominating the competition, they’re also making a positive impact in their local community. They have recently taken action to raise $1000 for BCNA (Breast Cancer Network Australia) and Type 1 Diabetes.
Congratulations to the Coburg Rebels on all of their accomplishments. They have a continuous commitment to growing the skills of their players, maintaining a strong team culture and being a role-model in their local community.
